Inside the Bottle: How to Make Naturally Lazy's Serum for the Face

Because glow shouldn’t require effort.

This blend began on my own bathroom counter — I wanted to know exactly what I was putting on my face, and I wanted every ingredient to have a purpose.

Let’s start with the heart of it all — why your skin doesn’t need more products, just better ones.

Why I Made This

This blend started on my own bathroom counter — born out of frustration and curiosity. I was tired of products that promised everything and delivered nothing, tired of labels I couldn’t trust, and tired of my skin feeling like a science experiment.

I made this serum for my skin as it began to show the signs of time — but I didn’t want it to be another “anti-aging” product marketed only to women. I wanted something universal — something that worked on any face, any gender, any skin type.

Aging isn’t something to fight — it’s something to nourish.

Living in the desert taught me a lot about hydration. Dry air pulls moisture from everything — skin included — so I built this formula to go deeper than surface-level glow. It’s rich, but not heavy; hydrating, but never greasy. It restores balance, firmness, and that calm, rested look that no commercial serum ever gave me.

What It Does

• Hydrates without heaviness
• Balances natural oil production
• Supports collagen and firmness
• Softens fine lines and brightens tone
• Leaves skin calm, hydrated, and subtly radiant

The Recipe

Makes: 1 oz bottle
Shelf life: 6 months in a cool, dark place

Ingredients

  • ½ oz castor oil (detoxifies and draws impurities)
  • ½ oz jojoba oil (balances sebum + locks in moisture)
  • ½ oz avocado oil (deep nourishment + vitamin E)
  • ½ oz grapeseed oil (light texture + tightens pores)
  • ½ tsp coffee bean oil (antioxidant boost + circulation)
  • ½ tsp pomegranate seed oil (firmness + elasticity)
  • 2 drops vitamin E (oil soluble preservative + skin repair)
  • 6 drops frankincense essential oil (cell renewal)
  • 6 drops geranium essential oil (balance + tone)
  • 6 drops lavender essential oil (soothe + heal)

To Make

  1. In a small glass bowl, combine all carrier oils.
  2. Add essential oils and vitamin E.
  3. Stir slowly with a glass rod or wooden stick.
  4. Pour into a sanitized dark glass dropper bottle.
  5. Shake gently before each use.

Metaphysical Cleansing & Intention Setting

Before pouring your serum into its bottle, take a moment to clear and charge its energy.

Every Naturally Lazy recipe carries both physical and energetic purpose — and this short ritual aligns the two.

To cleanse and program your bottle:

  1. Hold the empty bottle in your dominant hand and gently wrap your other hand around it.
  2. Close your eyes and take three slow, steady breaths.
  3. With your eyes still closed, visualize energy swirling clockwise around the bottle — clearing, cleansing, and preparing it to hold something sacred and charged.
  4. When the movement feels calm and clear, set your intention.
    • Example: “This serum will provide what my skin needs to age gracefully and naturally.”
  5. Once you feel that intention settle, pour in the serum.

That’s it — your serum is now both formulated and infused with mindful purpose.

When you use it, you’re not just caring for your skin — you’re reminding your body what real nurturing feels like.
